Your Clients Are Overdoing It. Here's How to Bring Them Back

If you work in a treatment room, a med spa, or a dermatology practice, you're seeing it too: clients arriving with stinging, compromised skin from routines built on social media. They've layered actives, stacked acids, and lost track of what's causing what. And the loudest advice out there, "stop exfoliating," isn't the answer either.
On this week's episode of Facially Conscious, Dr. Vicki, Julie, and I broke down barrier care and exfoliation as partners, not opposites. It's the same framework I teach through Esthetic Concierge: assess the barrier first, correct before you treat, pace exfoliation to what the skin can actually handle, and explain it all in language clients remember. (My brick-and-mortar explanation has never failed me.)
When your whole team speaks that way, clients stop guessing and start trusting you. If you'd like help building that into your practice, through staff training, protocols, or client education, that's exactly the work I do.
